If you decide not to wait, you should possibly check out Microcenter( if you live near one). you can pick up a I-7 for like $ 220 and also get $40 off with a motherboard combo I believe. I might also suggest checking out the Gigabyte z77 UD3H, its a great overclocker and can be had for relatively cheap at $140. With the money you would save from a 3930k, you could buy a really nice SSD if you don't have one already!

850 watts is overkill even for a system with 2 videos cards

Its 550 watts for a single card system and 750 watts for a dual card system

You can find a list of the good ones here

i live in western NY, so there isn't one of those near me... there are no real specialty stores for this type of stuff in my area at all that aren't privately owned (the prices are ridiculous, so i don't bother with them) ... there used to be a compUSA but that closed 6 years ago. money isn't too much of an issue for me as far as building a new PC is concerned, i just don't want to have to do it too frequently. hence why i went with mostly top of the line parts, i was actually considering getting an i7-3970X Extreme but given the difference in power it wasn't worth it for me ... but don't think i don't appreciate your input, because i do.

The one you have is fine you could upgrade and get better efficiency but you would have to buy a 80 plus platinum for that and they costs a lot so if you want to spend that kind of money you could

Is the GTX 680 a 2 or 4 GB?

Also if you are never going to buy a second card 760 is a little overkill
