EVGA 660 SLI questions

Thread Starter
Ok guys, I will be getting the parts next week to build my new rig, so I need to know some simple things.

1. If I plug in two GTX660 cards, and am only using one flat panel monitor, which connections for video are best for a gaming rig? There also seems to be a HDMI connection on the board, so connect the lead card or board? If card, HDMI, DVI-I, or DVI-D?

2. I'm using a Corsair CMPSU-850AX AX850 Power Supply so power to the cards is no problem. Should I supply power to the board's video connection as well?

3. Any thoughts on using a SanDisk Ultra Plus SDSSDHP-256G-G25 2.5" 256GB SSD as my boot drive as in "how to"?

Any help would be appreciated. If these have been asked before, just point me to the page. There is a TON of threads here.

Good day

1) Use the HDMI or DVI-D from the primary card.

2) Yes, you must plug in the PCIe power connectors to both video cards. Otherwise the video cards will not work.

3) If you want to ensure that your SSD is the boot drive, do not physically install any other hard drives before you install Windows. After that, then you can install any other hard drives and activate them via Disk Management so that Windows can "see" them as well.
