Overclock Micro-ATX motherboard

Thread Starter
Hello all i am looking into getting a Core 2 duo Micro-ATX motherboard in the next day or 2 for my Dell PC. I will also be replaceing the PSU inside it. I need to know of a good motherboard that i can overclock with thats a mATX. Does anyone have a Core 2 Duo mATX motherboard that they have (or know of) that is able to overclock everything that i need to push a 1.8 to around 2.6-3ghz?

Thanks!
David

Seems to be a pretty good board, although I'm pretty sure the review with the QX6700's is for the wrong board...

Also, might I ask if you're willing to change your case? You'd be amazed at how much easier it is to find a good motherboard when you have the full ATX size, and you'll be able to install/remove things easier, along with better temps in most cases. Just something to think about.

I don't recommend it. I'd just say get a new PC because you'll need a new PSU, new RAM, a new CPU, and a new mobo, and then all that's left for a new rig is a HDD, vid. card, and CD Drive. Plus, mATX really sucks for overclocking. First, they have integrated GPUs almost always, which hinders you, and then they spend more time cramming a Mobo into a small space that works rather than one that works well. Why do you think there are eATX server boards? I actually wanted to do this a while ago, but decided that a new rig is really only worth it. So I built a new rig.

Biostar TForce 965PT Mobo

The review from me is a review I made when I used my friends mobo. I tried to get him to write a review since it didn't have that many, and he didn't so I did.

Insane FSB's. Might want to invest in a decent NB cooler though. My own comes Monday. Can't use it 'till Xmas though.

Better than the S3 and P5B IMO. (Price and OCing wise.)

Thanks for the info The Pook!

I may need to also add that my friend is NOT a gamer. All he will use this computer for is photoshop CS2. Hes a photographer so thats pretty much all he will use it for.

Does that motherboard have a setting for the vCore?

Yes, it does have a wide variety of OCing options. It's a great motherboard for the price

If your still thinking about mATX, this Asus board is probably the best mATX OCing board, but it falls way short of the Biostar board posted above.
