The "Only a limited PCI-E lock, this is what holds the board back" was listed in the first post about mATX motherboard for "C2D"

Can you link the actual post?

I guess someone thinks you can't lock the PCI-E bus properly. but heck... locked is locked. Again, The Pook, a respected member here, worked with the board and likes it. I think the board will be fine.
It has a PCI-E lock. I think he's talking about a different board, because the 965PT isn't even listed.

The following pretty much had everthing that u can tweak:
Biostar I945G-M7
ASUS P5LD2-VM R2.0
ASUS P5B-VM

If i can get the e6300 past 2.5Ghz with any of these motherboards than thats good for me. Its just too much to get a case and the added shipping to ship that case for this order

Source?

I'd guess the Biostar we're talking about is better... It's just newer, so not talked about in that thread yet.

Again, a bit outdated.... don't even see this newer board...

It is a couple of Asus boards that I see the comment about limited PCI-E bus lock...

But what does the PCI-E bus have to do with overclock the CPU?

PCI-E bus I guess is like the PCI bus. When you OC the FSB, the PCI speed increases. It gets unstable when it leaves the 40Mhz or so range, from what I've heard. Mostly only unlocked in Socket A/468 boards AFAIK. (PCI-E is 66Mhz vs 33Mhz IIRC)

BTW, the 965PT is ATX, not mATX.
