Need help determining which laptop is better?!

Thread Starter
I'm currently laptop shopping, and have a budget of $600
I'm a college student so ill mostly be using it for;
browsing the web, using Microsoft Office, Coding programs,
and some Virtual Machines (Running 1 at a time)

I currently found two laptops that have caught my attention
Both are 15.6" and 6GB DDR3,
Duo Core with Hyperthreading

Laptop #1
500GB HDD with 20GB Expresscache
i5-3317U clocked around 1.8 and turbo 2.6

Laptop #2
750GB HDD
i5-3230M clocked at 2.6 and turbo 3.2

Im going more with laptop #2 because Its a higher clock
and newer CPU. Also, many people complain about Expresscache
not being worth it. So ill end up getting 250GB of storage back.

What do you guys thing?
Expresscache?
250+?

Umm, that isn't enough details about those two laptops except the CPU.
Sure, laptop #2 CPU is slightly faster, but we don't know the specs of it.
I would like for you to list the specs for both of them otherwise we can't really help you unless we find some laptops that fit your need.

Not to mention, Laptop #1 and Laptop #2 is quite different.
Laptop #1 is ULV which is ultra-low voltage CPU, so it consume less voltage, have decent speed for the tasks, less heat and use less battery life while laptop #2 is opposite of laptop #1.
Honestly, you won't see much different. Just throw in a SSD, and it is pretty good tongue.gif

By the way, what coding are you talking about?
