Ideapad durability?

Thread Starter
I am going to be purchasing a laptop because I am going to be stuck on my community college's campus for about 2 hours between classes. I am looking at this particular IdeaPad because Lenovo is known for their durability. I was wondering if IdeaPads are durable like their ThinkPad brethren.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Lenovo+-+IdeaPad+15.6%22+Laptop+-+4GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Black/7787044.p?id=1218860268602&skuId=7787044

I am particularly interested in screen hinge quality and strength. I absolutely hate when my laptop screens bounce all around when typing.

That's good to hear. The one I am looking at is only about $350, I wonder if the hinge quality will remain the same between the two models.

Lenovo is known for durability because of the thinkpad series, which is a design they bought from IBM. Their other lines aren't the same.
If you buy a case and don't do anything ridiculous you'll be fine, just know the dieapads aren't anything special.

Agreed.
If its durability and buildquality, a ThinkPad is the way to go.

That being said, the IdeaPad lines quality is leaps and bounds better than most of its competition.

That's good to know. I've always wanted a ThinkPad, however I cannot currently afford one. An IdeaPad however is affordable.
