Hiroshima in a box! My processor is burning up during gaming.

Hardware:

MSI 890FXA-GD70
AMD Phenom II X6 1100t
12 GB RAM
Seasonic 750X Gold Ceritfied PSU
G.Skill 60GB SSD
2x WD Hard Drives
7 140mm fans (5 are LED)
XFX Radeon 7770

And EVERY time I run a game, or anything graphically intense, my computer is overheating to the max and shuts down after about 10 minutes.
Sometimes I can get through a game of LoL IF I'm lucky.

The cpu socket and the mosfet next to it are getting so hot they burn my finger if it's there for more than 2 seconds.

Here's HW monitor running while it was mostly idle.

and here it is running fur mark

Are you Overclocked? I am seeing 1.4v on the vcore of your CPU that's a lot imo. load optimized defaults in your bios.

What kind of heatsink are you running?
Small wonder.

If you are burning you hand on your CPU socket then you need to upgrade your heatsink, I'm assuming you running the stock one at those temps? As for the MOSFET aim a fan at it if you can.

That CPU shouldn't be going past 60-62C.
It will hurt the cpu's longevity if it is getting that hot over a long period of time. I would reccomend reapplying TIM or getting a better heatsink. As said above see if you can lower your voltage to reduce temperatures as well.

Maybe the voltage is a tad high, but not extreme. Not enough to be pushing ~70C at idle anyway.

OP needs to post back with some details...

What CPU heatsink is being used?

What case do you have? And is it clean inside? No extreme dust buildup?

And how are those 7 fans set up? Specifically, how many are pushing air into the case, and how many are pulling air out?

Judging by the other hardware, one might speculate that the OP has an aftermarket heatsink, but we dont know. If its a decent heatsink, and everything is clean and properly installed, I bet were looking at a fan setup issue. Perhaps not enough exhaust (or none at all). I remember one individual who was getting really poor results using an H50. Turns out he had the rad fan pulling into the case (per Corsairs instructions). Flipping the fan around fixed everything. We theorized that waste heat was just being recycled/absorbed into the motherboard, coolant lines, pump/block, etc. and eventually rendering the setup useless.

1) blow or suck any dust present in ur cabby tongue.gif
2) enable LLC in BIOS if it is disabled .
3) change thermal paste
4) disable any fan control option in BIOS ( smart Q fan)
5) buy a CPU cooler (CM 212 will do)
6) if ur CPU is @stock CPU VCORE volts are very high (lower it manually)
7) update ur MOBO driver and BIOS ( dunno if it will help in reducing temps tongue.gif)

btw ur SSD temp o.O

I'm very interested to know how the 7 fans are setup (push/pull etc.).

My old 1090T never reached 30C Ever on load. How is this possible?

Go into Bios and reset all the settings to see if you tripped anything. Also are you using Stock cooling?

Yeah I am using the stock cooler, I plan on picking a zalman. But the thing about it is, I'm using my stock cooler with arctic silver, and I've NEVER had it get this hot.

I'm using the Antec DF-85, there are 4 fans around the heatsink pulling air away.

But the main issue is, it never got this hot before.

My mobo has an auto OC knob, but I don't think I've ever turned the dial on it, and I'm not overclocking because I wanted max longevity.
