Logitech G400 - Worst purchase I have ever made. - Page 2

Hi there Mancubus,

Logitech G400 is an ergonomic mouse, and you have to give it some time to get used to it.... The model you are used to use isn't like G400. Also this mouse is for people who usually palms it. Are you a palm or claw gripper? (asking this because the mouse you used is ambidextrous, and many people seems to claw it)
I'm telling you this because when i first started to use the G400, it gave my hand some pain and cramps, didn't like it first so i put it away... After some period without using any mouse (holidays), when i came back home the mouse i used to love (and still love, deathadder black edition), felt weird, my hand didn't gripped the same way. I'm not sure why this happened since i'm already an adult, so my hand is the same size it was before my holidays. So i give it a go to G400 again, one of the things i really hate about this mouse was the right lip. For some reason my pinky finger felt sore, so i sanded that lip and now it feels great.
So my opinion is, give it a try for about a week or so. Hold it in different ways to see if you can have a comfortable grip or your hand can get used to it.

Thread Starter
I was thinking about Razer Abyssus - the shape seems nice... and its lightweight and ambidextrous. Not too sure on the sensor.

Razer Deathadder - I tried it in a shop once it was waaay too sensitive just one flick of the wrist and it would the cursor would go way too far.

Logitech G400 sensitivity and tracking is really good... but like I said I don't like the shape. No matter how well a mouse tracks if it isn't comfortable you can't play with it well.

I also have my eyes on the MS Comfort Mouse 6000 - since I like the shape and the tracking I would be more used to since its Microsoft mice.

In the past I did use Logitech M100 but I found that Basic Optical had much better tracking.

Microsoft mice in general when compared to (most) equally priced Logitech mice IMO have better pointing and tracking. An exception is the G400/MX518 has quite good tracking but the shape is bad - it gives you cramps in your hands after a while.

Another Logitech mice I used (had HORRIBLE HORRIBLE tracking) was the M500... I can't believe how poor it was... ended up smashing it to pieces.

If only Logitech could make a mouse with the G400 smooth precise tracking and the shape of Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0 I would definitely buy it.

I just don't understand why Logitech has started to make these weirdly shaped mice with grooves and stuff why can't they make mice like they did in the past (Logitech G1 comes to mind). The G1 is no longer available on Logitech website.

Most of the ones I know that have this mouse (or some version of it, like the G500, MX518 etc.) including myself have fairly big hands, and I really think it fits my hand perfectly.
I can see how people with smaller hands can have problems using a mouse like this, seeing as it is quite huge, but going around telling basically everyone not to buy it is just beyond me man.

The problem definitely isn't the mouse, it's either you having the wrong grip or perhaps even too small hands.

Eh, different people like different mice, even if it might be hard to understand.

You should have bought something smaller like Zowie AM

Indeed.

You should have bought a mouse that suited you better then and stop acting like a little child telling people not to buy because you bought the wrong mouse for you.

As far as performance goes the G400 is much better than the mouse you have, but you wouldn't notice this because you play SCII where sensor performance doesn't really matter since you won't affected much by things like prediction, lift off distance, low malfunction speeds, polling rate etc.

If you would like to switch to a better mouse that has a similar feel to the one you are using now wait for the Logitech G100s.

I totally agree with you. Who buys a mouse without trying it first? I have the G9X and it comes with both a claw and a palm shell so you can choose, plus it is very light but has weights so you can make it the weight you most enjoy. That said, their customer service is terrible. Three year warranty, mouse fell off he arm of the chair and the left mouse button stopped working. $100 mouse, three months in, and they tell me drops aren't covered by the warranty. My point is it shouldn't have broke in the first place. My mouse gets dropped from there regularly and not one of my Microsoft mouses broke. They did give me a 40% off coupon at their website. I was so happy (not) to be able to buy a replacement for only $60. Which I did by the way because I do like the feel of the mouse.

I've gotten 2 1/2 years and running out of mine for $35. Can't complain. What did you replace your MX518 with?
