Logitech G400 - Worst purchase I have ever made. - Page 5

As Splinterize said this is all subjective. There's plenty of other companies like Razer, Kensington, Cooler Master (just off the top of my head) that make great products that a non-flashy user would gladly use. I find the G400 plenty nice in my light usage of a friend's in the past year, a bit more precise/smooth than either my G500 or G700 but that's just because I never use below 5000dpi on the other two and nor do I intend to. Weight is subjective, I'm 6' 1" with moderate-large hands and the G500 is barely large enough for a good palm style mouse for myself in addition to its light weight with the heaviest weights set in it.

As for the release of the G100s it's between a week to a few weeks here in the US, I assume same time if not maybe a month max for a UK release

in all seriousness, OP should try out an EC2 evo or wait for bst`s Ninox Aurora. since that aint coming out anytime soon... why not try the ec2 evo.
it meets your criteria I bet. it has its flaws but I can see it working for you - if you like the rubberized coating.

I have both g400 and mx518 v.2

I find mx518 better in everything except sensor.

G400's "rubberized" pseudo-teflon feet have massive static friction even on fast cloth pad/table, they make mouse feel like it has 15-20 ms of input lag. Impossible to draw small round circle or hit something small on the desktop. With 30cm/360 I can only aim by 10 degrees intervals, making tracking aim so bad that with LG I hit barely 42% vs nightmare bots.

- Its slippery in both dry and wet hands(where DA BE is fine).
- Feels smaller in hand and has almost no space for pinkie finger under the lip, so I cant palm it.
- Cable is not very flexible.
- Gap between shell and left microswitch.
- "back" side button bounces back really bad.
- Sensor and cursor quality doesn't feel as precise as DA's and even Recon's.

But I fixed most of the problems by swapping top shell, side-buttons pcb, cable and removing feet.

Really? Are you pressing the mouse into the pad or something? The friction is really not that bad for me.

I have not experienced that.

This really annoys me too.

The g400 feel a little more precise to me. What DPI are you using?

How do you replace the cable? Did you have to solder a new one on?

You could try the G600. Its extremely comfortable I can sit down and use it all day and never get a sore hand. Also has customizable lighting effects and programmable buttons on the side which could help you out in MMO's like SC2.

There's a small header inside the mouse, basically it's like a USB header on a motherboard and you just pop the old cable off and stick on a new one.
I own a 518 with a blue mx510 shell, it would be moved to the g400 if I ever got one. tongue.gif

Edit: Not quite like a USB header actually, my memory of it was slightly different to what it is.
There's a guide on OCN to fixing broken MX518 cables that details removal.

Not pressing, the feet are just that bad. mx518's big feet were fine.

800 at desktop and in-game.

No soldering, you just plug the cable in.

I've always liked the feet on the G400. They work pretty well on my mouse pad. I think I might actually be lifting the mouse up slightly by claw gripping them.
