Razer Diamondback

Thread Starter
Looking for a replacement to my Razer Diamondback since there's no way to get one now days,
I have tried almost any site & forums and no success yet,
wish there will be someone who has one and willing to sale it..

so let's continue anyway I might ask first which sensor Diamondback had (Not the 3G) maybe some another mouse with the same sensor,
if not I would like to get a mouse which have 1600dpi and stick to my own settings.

Edited:

I do have another question what is really important to me: I'm about to get a pink glass pad (Icemat) and want to know if there is any issues with optical mouse tracking on it?
Because I'm not sure if Pink colour is the best option.

Thanks

You're out of luck I guess. About a year ago I bought a Diamondback 3G off eBay, from a Korean vendor, for a reasonable price (new). They had quite a bit red and green LED editions in stock. And they also had the chameleon red edition (older 1600dpi sensor) Diamondback in stock, which I kind of wished I bought, just for nostalgia.

I checked eBay now, nothing of use I think. You may check eBay more often, perhaps someone will offer a good deal at some point.

They already released a "new Krait" so I guess the mighty Diamondback/copperhead/krait shape has been ditched off.

What's gone wrong on your old diamondback? It might be possible to fix.

Would be interested to know that answer as well. Been trying to find a replacement for the Diamondback myself.

FOUND THIS: "S3668" as the DBack 3g sensor.

If I recall, it HAS prediction and only a 125hz polling rate.

The original Diamondback is a Kingsis mouse, with an Avago sensor, using 1600 CPI and 125Hz polling.

I think the sensor is an early 3090... I don't want to open it again and check.

Not technically "Avago", but the architecture roots are extremely similar, if not the same HW. You can switch to 400 DPI via driver. DB3G = 1800 (default) and 800.

Sensors models are Agilent A3070/3080 and Avago S3668. Likely a possible binning case, but who knows. Not like that info travels far outside of lead development @ sensor manufacturer.

Theres a bunch of history I can get into involving these two companies, but It shouldn't be hard to figure out. Some people will reflect on this very post for another transition.
