Help me make my PC more silent!

I've been trying to get my sig rig run quieter for quite som time now, just testing different set ups, coolers etc etc. Im still not happy with it i hear my pc wuite well even when i have headphones on. Now i need more suggestions! thumb.gif

I got nexus real silent PWM fans, one in the front and one in the sidepanel, both intake, two corsair sp120 quiet editions exhausting truogh that top rad. Both Nexus fans are unervolted to 7V. I got two of the corsair fans that came with h100i gathering dust and i was going to do some airflow and noise testing on them once i get home tomorrow.

My GPU seems to be the biggest noise maker in the system atm, nexus fans close second.
Should i maybe change the thermal paste in my GPU so i can get the fan run lower rpm?

What fans would you recommend for intake fans and where should i place them? are gentle typhoons good case fans or are they only good with rads?

Also i've noticed the side intake is quite dusty, are there some aftermarket dustfilters for places like that? they could come handy biggrin.gif

What GPU do you have?

You could buy a new cooler for your GPU like some of the ones Arctic Cooling makes

I have a friend who bought my XFX 7950 DD POS card first thing he did was to take the DD cooler off and install a Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 7970 on it droped the temp and noise down like a rock

Here is the video he made

Hmm i must look into those. I was even considering of buying a new gpu mainly for the noise biggrin.gif
Thank you! thumb.gif

That seems to fit 560 reference, so is the asus one reference desing?
Also, with that cooler, can i still make a custom fan rpm curwe with MSi afterburner?

If you watch the whole video you can see how its done

The only problem is the warranty will be void if you take the stock cooler off

A couple weeks ago I was sick of listening to my rig sounding like a hurricane at my feet (different than my sig- I now have TT watercooler and lots of fans- including a couple of Deltas) so I opted to move the sucker into a storage room on the other side of the wall from my desk. Silence! thumb.gif

But still, is the Asus GTX 560 DC Reference PCB desing?
And can i use software (such as MSi afterburner) to make my own fan RPM curve
http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/554/accelero-xtreme-iii.html?c=2182
http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/vga/375/accelero-twin-turbo-ii.html?c=2182
Which one should i go with? The triple fan one is 30e more expensive than the dual fan. Is it worth it?

I have a fractal design r4 with 4 500rpm case fans and My gpu+ hard drive are too damn loud. I moved the whole box into a closet.
