Thinking about a case mod...

I've been bored lately... And after much thinking, I've come to the conclusion that casemodding can keep me occupied.

Plan:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811154065

paint the case black.

Buy a generic LCD screen.

Put USB plugs in the front

add a keyboard thats small enough to slide in and out
with a touchpad mouse parallel to the KB

I need suggestions... Anything to improve what I'm doing would be greatly appreciated

This is going to be a new computer and its not going to be for much 3d games so a FX5200 Ultra and a sempron 3400+ should be enough to fuel this thing...

I know some are going to say " GAH! MAC!!! " but no. I'll probably have 2k installed on it. This is going to probably be the family computer downstairs... Besides, who wouldn't want to show off their skills to every guest who comes to my house?

The good thing is... It can handle some moderate games like WC3. I'm getting CS then CS2/CS:S for my gaming rig...

that would be interesting

Very interesting to me in fact.

I'm not going to lie, if I can find a way to hook up my laptop monitor that is from my old laptop to desktop components, I might try and copy you.

Ah, so you will be using a TFT LCD.

I am doing a similar thing.

Good luck!

Thanks guys

I'm looking at the dimensions at newegg so I can fit a decent keyboard in with a touchpad. I have an old IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T22/23 and since it's not working... I may pull out that touchpad and sell the extra parts. Also the LCD. It's not worth it having the laptop repaired... P3 900Mhz 256ram maxes at 512mb... It's what happens when your computer un-savvy Grandfather (who still uses a typewriter instead of his other computer) is alone in NYC and approached by some salesman into some 3rd rate store. Only had a 90 day warranty... By the time I figured it out, it was too late.
