But really lousy overclocking..

TLDR, gave up around page 5. I have been itching for an upgrade from my trusty "old" Phenom II 955.... if this comes out this year we might have a winner.

Had almost convinced myself I needed an i7.... which I know would be throwing money away just to play games and the occasional video transcode.

Why get an i7? You can get an FX 8350 that has better h264/x264 video encoding/transcoding and its not that much slower than i7 3770k in most games...

I would love to see AMD on par or exceeding Intel's offerings in the CPU area. If they could pull that off, then blast marketing, they might be able to gain some ground and become seriously competitive. A lot has to fall in place for that miracle to happen though tongue.gif

Exciting biggrin.gif

Thanks for that! I hoped that if Jaguar was to be made at TSMC, they would also make the FX/Opteron lineups there. frown.gif

Temash is Jaguar for tablets and Jaguar will be produced at TMSC most likely because of Sony...

I'm confused. The specs on that motherboard list the slots as PCIe 2.0, not PCIe 3.0

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131877&Tpk=SABERTOOTH%20990FX%2fGEN3%20R2.0&IsVirtualParent=1

Expansion Slots
PCI Express 2.0 x16
3 (dual x16 or x16, x8, x8)
1 (x4 mode, black)

What if the 4670k outperform steamroller flagship processor?!
