So would I be better off buying an 8 core FX core processor with some HD 78** graphics card? Or is it worth waiting for Kaveri or next version of FX processors?

i can't argue with that, but i can speculate that there may be a time when AMD may not beat intel but tie them.

why when you will always be wrong... that would drive me crazy..
always behind but as long as they are better then the previous gen (not like FX-Bulldozer was to Deneb C3 wink.gif), it's a win for them..

But the gap will be smaller and smaller by each generation and 14nm is not good since power leakage will be significantly higher and I bet Intel will spend so much R&D money to try to fix that and develop technology while AMD will be with excavator probavly at 22nm and have no problems.

my point is really not surpassing nor matching Intel, always behind.
I agree Vishera a tweak os Zambezi but you missed the sarcasm with the 'wink'... as do you think FX-Bulldozer was much of an improvement
over Deneb C3 or Thuban E0..?

I know..... That's even Intel can get the 14nm CPU's to last longer then 6 months before they burn out...

True, but then again, AMD stated late last year they aren't interested in trying to beat Intel in that game anymore.

The company will also stop trying to take on Intel Corp. (INTC) directly in striving to make faster processors, a strategy that’s going to produce chips that are needlessly powerful.

“That era is done,” Read, 50, said in an interview. “There’s enough processing power on every laptop on the planet today.”

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Chief Executive Officer Rory Read, May 15 2012
