Take a look at the videos in the OP.

(missing light source)

This is glaring examples of textures/effects not being rendered correctly on the SLI setup. But how are we, the readers, get a fair assessment of what's being given to us when there is obvious IQ differences between runs? Am I, to simply ignore this and still say that CF has issues?

I for one didn't really notice any difference between CF 7970's and SLI Titans running back to back unless FPS dropped so low on the 7970's that it was obvious (like in FC3 and Crysis 3).

IMO this is more than the amd drivers itself...

I think it is fair to state that AMD has much more to gain than Nvidia if they can ever put together a decent set of drivers or CAPs.

AMD obviously have more issues. But I will wait for Anandtech to start analyzing frame times and latencies in their reviews before I say CF brings zero frames over sigle-GPU.

There is no such thing. One monitor is rendering the game correctly and the other is not. At this point you can't draw any conclusions from the results. That's not a results of AMD but what's missing in the SLI results.

Is your frame rate locked at 63 FPS?

I'm glad you brought your quadfire results into a thread discussing Crossfire. tongue.gif

Did you really need 4 cards to maintain 63 FPS in Blackops 2?

You wanted comments and feedback, you got it. biggrin.gif

Its pretty obvious that the frame issue is over-exagerated. Gives more ammunitions to Nvidia Fanboys.

Or maybe it was Anandtech. Can't remember, but I'll see if I can find it anyway...

Edit : I was wrong. Was neither. Was Tom's Hardware...

Obviously not to FCAT standards, but it shows that adding a third card could really smooth things out.

Old but definitely relevant now. You're running quad fire. This dual-GPU issue doesn't necessarily apply to you like it doesn't apply to a single card.

PCPer should really throw in a third and fourth card, as they can possibly narrow this down to a dual-GPU only problem.

Tearing happens in both SLI and CF so you aren't making a point. There is a light source found in CF that is not found in SLI. That's not the same as screen tearing.
