But you have to admit, all other videos have no stutter at all and it was with 12.11 beta 11 drivers.

The overlay tool puts colored bars on the left in a specific order, and the tool that parses data looks for that pattern in order to find the start of the data, the CFX eyefinity setup was dropping so many frames the pattern was unrecognizable to the tool that parses the video. This is something that's relatively straightforward to fix, you just find some other way to mark the start of the data, or change the code to match a wider range of possible patterns.

A lot of people don't play with Vsync on, and pretty much all performance reviews are done with Vsync off, so showing how stutter/runt frames affects a Vsync off condition seems pretty relevant. If reviews compared cards by comparing what settings were playable at 60 FPS with Vsync on, then you'd have a better point. But as long as card comparisons are done with Vsync off, you need to do these charts that way also.

Actually, it's the scrolling wall on the left side that is most noticeable to me, particularly when the sign with the Chinese characters goes by. It looks distractingly jerky, especially if you are seeing it out of the side of your vision (focusing on the main screen, for instance). But many people have said that Tri-Fire significantly improves stutter, so I'd guess Quad would do the same.

Funny how no one contest the subjective nature of deciding that runt frames are not helpful and should be removed from the data. At the very minimum, we need to actually play the game with runt frames missing and see how that compares to runt frames actually being there. My bet is having a little black bar run across the screen instead of a runt frame is 100 times worse. To remove a runt frame for data purposes deserves a thesis, dissertation, and a panel of experts before this shcmo can make that call.

Moreover, most of these argument that you guys are suggesting are coming out of thin air. To assert that no one uses vsync is a huge statement. On the contrary, typically vsync comes pre-enabled and must be turned off. I know atleast 5 out of 7 people who play pc games that dont even go into the settings menu.....ever...... Just download and play. This pc enthusiast stuff is going to your heads assuming that everyone is 1337 like you. So from my very small observation, most people play with vsync on...............

Yes it is a bug of begginning the level, it only happen the whole time you hear the voice talking. Recheck it again. You'll notice what I'm talking about. But you are pretty good to have spot that bud thumb.gif

A runt frame was considered 25% or less of the previous frame. Sounds pretty cut and dry. Hope AMD gets it fixed soon.

Huh? That's been a large part of the discussion - what the impact of the runt frames is. There is no way to eliminate them (in the way you are talking about), thew question is what happens when AMD releases their expected driver fix to reduce them, and what impact that will have on performance.
