We NEED the competition, period. I don't think I've seen anyone ever say that they want AMD to go out of business, that's just ludicrous.

If anything, we want AMD to fix all their issues, and put pressure back on NVIDIA.

It's funny how these guys ignore the fact that when AMD had no competition from NVIDIA at 28nm, they had to shell out $550 - $600 for a 7970. NVIDIA's competition is what drove those prices down. Vice versa when NVIDIA is lacking competition, it drove Titan prices up.

It goes BOTH ways.

If AMD stuck to their yearly release cycle, and put out an 8970 that was 20% faster than 7970GE, the GTX GK110 card would've ended up at $750 tops. Probably closer to the $600 mark.

What I find sad is those crap reviews paid by Nvidia because Nvidia has more money and people will believe all this exagerations.

You see that marketing crap everywhere from Nvidia, its sad for the market and its killing it. Nobody wants to see AMD go. They have awsome products and their driver team is getting so good by now. But yet people will deny it and prefer looking at those crappy reviews.
Its written black on white in that quote that PCPer had some money from Nvidia. I don't think that the "Nvidia help" meant pandas dancing in pyjamas while they were working. It was probably Help = Money.

Read this sentence a few times.
Quote:
1. We had the opportunity to help develop the program tools with NVIDIA but chose not to. 2. PCPer has put an incredible about of time and money into this program that we were simply not comfortable with spending.

Translation 1, NVIDIA offer them the opportunity to help develop the tools but PCPER chose not to.

Translation 2 - That means they spent time and money out of their own pockets, that they were not comfortable spending.

If NVIDIA was paying them, why are they spending money out of pocket?

Nowhere does it say that NVIDIA paid them, that's just your interpretation.

If a 3rd party wants to decipher that, and offer an unbiased opinion, I welcome it. smile.gif

Oh my bad, I thought that quote was from the PCPER article, which we are discussing in this thread. You posted that quote with no sources, or context, but claiming NVIDIA paid PCPer. It's hard to keep up with all your claims. Please post sources, and explain the context next time.

You're famous buddy, check out that podcast starting at 16:00. thumb.gif

Also, listen to what he says at the 19:00 mark.

22:00 - Man, so much good stuff in this podcast, he even bought his own capture card with his own money, 18 months ago!

Crossfire, in many games, is worthless, even when averaged frame rate measurements indicate good scaling.

I have two 7950s, two 6950s, two 5850s, and four 5750s. Guess how many crossfire setups I normally run? Yep...zero. That's how bad the situation is with most of the games I play. It just does not help.

This usually true, but not always. I have games that play worse in Crossfire than with a single card. It's not terribly uncommon. Of modern games, Hawken is the prime example that comes to mind.

Anyway, just not being worse than a single card is a pretty terrible justification for crossfire. There should be obvious improvement, across the board, for all users, even those who are sensitive to inconsistent frame intervals.

This thread is still going?

To the rest of you: are you not bored of arguing with zgunBLADEz and KaRLiToS yet?

Regardless of how many news sites report the same thing, they're all obviously taking Nvidias money.

Guru3D, PCPer, Toms, Tech Report, etc etc - it's all a massive Nvidia payout and conspiracy.

I'd love to hang around and chat but I have to go out, I've just realised I'm all out of tinfoil tongue.gif

Thread Starter
if you start at the beginning they talk about an AMD sponsored event with the bioshock infinite gaming stream. and also a few other points were brought up; AMD still pays to have advertising on the site and amd still gives them cards to review.

now if PCper is receiving money from nvidia to develop a tool to make AMD look bad and publish such results there can be only one logical conclusion:

amd is very very very stupid.

edit: i wonder what color the porches are?
