understood.
I just can't see myself with a single GPU lesser than GTX 670 or HD 7950 Boost @ 1080p or higher.
I tried.. redface.gif

Yeah you talk about sli vs cf. You were wrong and still you want to prove something

the HD 7870 is faster in raw power sense but the smoother gameplay is from the GTX 660.
just pointing out that you missed that part in your quotes.
not starting a war because I'm not getting either the 660 or 7870, at least not planning on it.
we've moved on... is something hurting over there from all this AMD in competence.?

Because on my sig i dont have a system with nvidia doesnt mean anything? On my work i use only nvidia. When you call someone that he is butthurt from all this then you lack the facts to compete with him. You just spread misinformations and you answer me for a different subject.

Thread Starter
ok folks at the risk of embarrassing myself to admit to watching a linus techtip twitch broadcast; they had ryan from PCper on discussion the topic of the testing but what i thought was a bit important, a discussing of what how to fix AMDs crossfire issue.

40:30 differences in games and how a cpu bound game limits sturrering. ie BF3 vs Skyrim
48:00 testing for V-sync fixes and then how or what will and ought to be used for a fix.

http://www.twitch.tv/linustech/b/387187279

up until ~8:00 talk of devs helpiing to fix the issues

http://www.twitch.tv/linustech/b/387205972

and crap! looks like the OCN video tag doesn't like twitch . . maybe later i'll rip and edited . . .

what i had hoped to bring up was the time frame it will take for AMD to have a hardware based solution. nvidia used the frame metering as a driver based solution until kepler and then incorporated it as a hardware based solution. (which begs the question how is this with a 5xx series SLI?)

for AMD to provide a hardware based solution would take ~ 2 years given the roadmap they have laid out. until then it looks like time frame rating will be around for awhile so to keep an eye on the drivers so that the issue isn't reintroduced.

edit: the discussion on games using frame timing, like in rage, may be a common solution for both camps . .but at what cost?
edit II: i am not saying rayn is omniscient about this, it just that he has put himself out there in the front and may influence opinion. so why not hear what he has to say?

Like I said, I'm not sure why they're missing in the review, but just showing that the lighting isn't missing in ALL NVIDIA cards.

Alright, I matched their settings, you can see I did since I'm getting 20 FPS LOL. I guess we need someone with a 660 TI to check. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

It is a dynamic game so you'd expect some differences, though you'd think identical save games would have roughly similar results. I wonder if they are using different saves, and that's why it's different, or if maybe it's something control panel related? Maybe I'll load my copy up and check.

I tried many different settings, and no matter what I did the lighting was always there, please post screenies when you get a chance, I wonder if it's a Kepler issue, or an SLI issue? thinking.gif

This is why I don't buy AMD cards... Sorry guys... the rumors of horrible drivers and multi-card support aren't hot air.
