Just giving you some advice because a lot of people were reporting cooler chips but almost nobody was given ambient temperature. As phantom nzxt has pointed out your vcore is way too high for stock clocks. Go into your bios and try to bring the voltage down thumb.gif

Yeah, your voltage is just "higher" than what it needs to be... also could you take a picture of your BIOS? And the part where it lists your voltages, multiplier and frequency...

Ok so since you don't know how to put it back I'm guessing you don't know how to change it. In your BIOS you will see a settings called something like, "CPU Voltage". It will be set to auto. Scroll over it and press enter. You will see "auto, offset, fixed." Scroll over to "fixed" and press enter. Then below it you will see a box that lets you set the voltage. Type in "1.00" and press enter. Some BIOS's will have you scroll over to the voltage and then hit enter and then you will have to scroll through that screen and choose the voltage you want.

To make it go back to auto, just scroll over to "CPU voltage" and choose auto.

To do this you need a flash drive formatted to FAT32 and you just boot with it plugged into your computer and while you are in the BIOS you just hit F12 to take a screenshot.

Or you know, if you had a cell phone with a camera... that would be pretty legit cause you could use the camera to save you a lot of effort.

I hope OP has a cell phone camera.... wink.gif

yes 45c is too hot, it will cook if it's loaded.
if you used a different tim did you remove the paste that was pre-applied on the corsair block?

That will note cook a 3570k... e-e The chips are rated to 105C and I have ran my regularly at over 85C without issues.

OP, those temps are a bit high and I would suspect that you may have a bad seat with your H100. Under load with my clock speeds (and my chip runs a little bit hotter as well) I do 70C. When I had my 3570k, I would do about 50-55C load. What are your ambients, because if you have high ambients, that can cause your temps to be higher as well. Ambient temp is your room temp.

Also, as far as TIM goes, use a good pea sized glob in the dead center of the CPU (after cleaning the block and CPU properly with some rubbing alcohol). I generally do a glob about the size of a large pea. If you don't have enough TIM, your temps will be high.

thanks guys for being patient with me, i set my voltage to 1V and my temps are the same.

Would 78C at load damage my cpu or lower it's life? I'd be fine with these temps if i could run the latest games

Reseat, reapply TIM. Make sure the block is down tight (as far as hand tight will get you.

haha yea I just figured it would be easier to throw in a USB stick than to take pics with a cell and then send them to his email and then upload them here. Well I guess it would be the same effort. Idk I probably threw him off with the whole "FAT32" speal lol. I guess this is the time of the night that I start thinking of logical solutions for things. That usually means I should sleep haha

You can also take a screen shot and upload it here at OCN. Just press the picture button in the reply bar and add your screen shot.
