Completed, went well.

Only issue is I swapped my NH-D14 for an H100i at the same time, so I can't exactly compare temperatures.

Let me explain how everything is set so maybe someone can tell me if everything is good.

Stock fans (4 gentle typhoons en route) - Each at 2400 RPM as per fan controller
CLP on die and IHS
CPU - 4.5 OC @ 1.28V (High, I haven't fully completed the OC, I'm still toying)

Temps idle are high 20s and low 30s .. Using Prime 95 blend they're 55 - 60.

Opinions needed please.

Good deal man. The only issue I had in my deliding was getting the IHS lined up perfectly in the bracket. It was more tedious than actually breaking it loose.

I'm fixing to continue my overclock and see if I can get closer to 5 now.

You have an h100i too.. When I've read reviews of the unit being on "Silent, Normal, and Extreme (or Maximum?)" what does that refer to? I've not found anything in the software to change anything.

I only got to play with it for two days (PSU send to RMA mad.gif), but I'm pretty sure that it is somewhere in there. Did you make sure to plug in the USB cable to the USB header on your motherboard?

That sucks with the RMA. Had a mobo DOA once. The wait almost killed me.

I just figured it out. It's the fan settings. I have mine connected to a fan controller so it doesn't even apply to me. Oh well, tomorrow my 4 Gentle Typhoons will be here so that all works out.

First remember that CLP will conduct so make sure you do not get it on anything. I wear disposable latex gloves so I can keep it off my hands and throw the gloves away. I go through four or five pairs just to remount my HSF.

Lay a paper towel on the counter and wipe the IHS across the paper towel until you get as much off as you can. Then use at least 70% rubbing alcohol and paper towels (I actually use new coffee filters and 99% rubbing alcohol) to clean off the rest. Make sure that you did not get any on the pads on the bottom of the CPU while you were cleaning everything up, if you did wipe it off with the alcohol.

I clean the heat sink off the same way.

Let all the left over alcohol evaporate.

Reapply per the CLP instructions and remount.
