Cheap memory?

Thread Starter
I ordered my z77 mpower from Newegg, and they added free memory, 8G|CORSAIR CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 R . Is this good, or would someone suggest "better" memory? I will be using the rig primarily for gaming. Currently, Bioshock Infinite, and who knows what in the future. Is 8gigs sufficient, or should I go with 16gigs? When I build it next week, I want it to rock right out of the gate, yes? Went with a INTEL|CORE I5 3570K 3.4G and will run two EVGA 02G-P4-2660-KR GeForce GTX 660 2GB SLI.
Suggestions?

Good day

that memory isnt that good. it is 1600mhz and has a cas latency of 10.... normally 1600mhz has 8-9 cas latency...

Corsair RAM is decent enough, they make better sets but I haven't seen any horror stories. You could do far, far worse.

8GB is sufficient for gaming, you won't likely use all of that in normal use, even heavy multi tasking. You only want 16GB+ if you do heavy rendering or Photoshop, or some application like that.

Unless you want to make a RAM drive for giggles?

Well, CL10 is much more common for individual 8GB sticks of RAM than 2x4GB kits, where CL9 is the usual rating.

Anyhow in terms of capacity, 8GB is more than sufficient.
