Looking for a 1440p/1600p monitor

Thread Starter
Hey everyone - I'm looking for a new monitor to replace my 24'' Dell to go next to my 32'' Samsung LED HDTV on my desk. Not looking to spend more than $650-699. Looking for something that will last a long time and have as little dead pixels as possible. I will be using this mostly for gaming. I have a second 6950 coming in to power games at this resolution.

I saw this one, thought it looked good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236294

Thoughts?

I have that monitor and there are a few of us on this forum that really like them. I saw the Samsung equivalent that is probably a little bit better on sale for $600 here in Canada so maybe you'll want to take a look around for that price in the states?

Also, maybe read some reviews on the Viewsonic 1440, as well as the Dells if you haven't already.

Peace.

It is a Samsung S27A850D . Apparently it is "PLS" monitor . I know nothing about " PLS" technology but it appears to be as good as the "IPS" but substantially cheaper . It looked Clearer and the colours seemed to pop out - Unfortunately , at $599 Au , was out of my budget . It may be worth a look for you .
I posted the above in another thread but thought it may be applicable here too .

you should really fill in your general location. I have an HP LP3065 you could check out.
