Considering that it took AMD three years to introduce a chip that could defeat the 2009-era i7-960, I wouldn't be too terribly proud of that "accomplishment".
I don't think that even AMDZone could spin that into a "good thing"...
Damn that's horrible. 3 years. I haven't been keeping up with the latest Intel chips, but I definitely have NOT been keeping up with AMD at all. They need to take more risk. People want power and a good architecture. Ah well AMD is making the PS3 GPU and CPU so that's better than nothing.

But i assume it's not all bad, i can do 56 Avg FPS in Crysis 3 on Ultra, No AA. But i can only assume Crysis 4, BF4, Watch Dogs and maybe GTA V will be my reasons to finally sell a kidney and Upgrade.
OP: Your rig will do fine for years to come, might wanna get a better Cooler and go for 3.7+ just to even out the Newest games and add more headroom to the 670 SLI idea.
3.7+? What do you mean? Ghz or Vcore or something? So far my cooler keeps my temp low at reasonable levels so I don't see the need to update just yet. If I'm running stock temps the cooler can get me as low as 16-22c. OC'd nets me 26-33c. So I don't see the need to get a better cooler. If I do I would get a traditional water cooler. However doesn't the room\ambient temperature matters with water cooler as well.
Looks normal. Though you might have to do cpu upgrade down the road.
Well after the i7-960 there are the extreme edition CPUs. They cost a lot of money as well, but I might be able to get one at a cheaper price. I think I might just ride the 960 until I kill it unless I find a 970-980x or 990x at a more reasonable price.
