  • Group stage based qualifiers
  • Double Elimination finals
  • Two main divisions and one OCN only division
    • Competitive - Intended for Platinum to Grand Masters players
    • Casual - Restricted to Platinum and below
    • OCN Only
  • To qualify for the OCN-Only division you must have an OCN account created on or before March 31st with at least 10 posts
  • Participating in the OCN-Only division does not exclude you from participating in any other division
  • Players may register play up in divisions but not down (A gold may participate in Competitive but a Diamond may not compete in Casual).

Prizes
The Competitive and OCN-Only Divisions will be the only two with prizes, the Casual Division is intended as a for fun experience for players who simply enjoy playing StarCraft 2 with no pressure. We realized early on that including any sort of prize for the lower division put it at risk of attracting people using smurfed or alternate accounts which would ruin the entire division's purpose.

Competitive Division Prizes
  • 1st Place - $1,000
  • 2nd Place - $500
  • 3rd Place - $250
  • 4th Place - $100
  • 5th through 8th Place - $25

OCN-Only Division Prizes
  • 1st Place - $300
  • 2nd Place - $150
  • 3rd Place - $50
  • 4th Place - $25

Tournament Format
Each Division will be run as its own independent tournament. As stated earlier OCN members may participate in either the Competitive or Casual Divisions in addition to the OCN-Only division. We'll release an official ruleset closer to the actual start of match play once we can give definite answers as to how many groups and rounds there will be. In general the basic structure of a group stage progressing into qualifiers will not be changed.

Registration
To register for a main division and/or the OCN-Only Division follow through and complete this form:
https://docs.google.com/a/overclocked.net/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEZ6UndmZ2d1MGViVGFlNHJuTXN1Ymc6MQ

Registration will be open from Tuesday, April 9th to Tuesday, April 16th. The Binary Beast tournament will be created on Wednesday the 17th and matches will begin on Friday, April 19th.

===IMPORTANT NOTICE===
A ruleset will be posted once we have a proper idea of how many participants we'll have for each division. In last month's League of Legends Challenge we started out with a ruleset but ended up having to change pretty much the entire thing based on the incredibly large turnout we got. Since we hate guessing we're simply going to wait before announcing a schedule or any other precise details.

Hey guys,

I’ve been in touch with the current tournament admin and will confirm the following dates for the tournament and broadcast of the 1st OCN Starcraft II tournament. We’re happy to announce the tournament will resume this weekend beginning with our very own OCN member’s tournament.

OCN Member’s Tournament Details

An important note regarding the member’s tournament is the bracket has now been changed so that the top player from each group of the round robin stage will advance to a single elimination Bo3 bracket.

Saturday, May 18th @ 4pm EST

Sunday, May 19th @ 4pm EST

*Matches will be best of 3
*The Finals match will be played on Saturday, May 25th, 2013

*NA Region

This was intended to be an NA based tournament.

*Walkovers

Although it’s been stated before, I would like to remind everyone, if you do not reply to scheduling emails or do not show up for your match after notice has been issued your opponent, you will be given a walkover. We will try our best to accommodate players schedules but if a new time is not a possible option due to insufficient notice or scheduling conflicts, the show must go on… Please don’t take it negatively, we want everyone to have fun and enjoy the tournament progression.

On the news tab it says that the OCN only division group advancement has been changed from top 2 to top 1. why?
You're basically eliminating half the players unfairly from the group stage just because there are other people in the group that decided not to play their games resulting in whoever stays undefeated from playing 2 games automatically advancing.

Just sent you a PM - I'm usually on late (10p-2a EST) nightly, but I can do anything after 3PM-ish any time this weekend.

That random email we got yesterday telling us to log on at 4PM today was kind of hilarious. I'm not going to rearrange my schedule on a weekday afternoon to fit the demands of a poorly-run tournament, sorry.
