Overclocking is fun...you should give it a go. I doubt you can resist the urge for too long with such beastly hardware. biggrin.gif

There are plenty of 3930k's out there that can run 2666mhz at rated speeds.

Mine happily runs 2400mhz mem even with tighter timings and I havent had to pump up the VTT or other voltages.

Unfortunately you cant believe everything you read on here.. frown.gif

FTW420 is right though, if you were unlucky enough not to be able to run at the rated 2400mhz then just drop them to 2133mhz in bios and tighten up the timings.. you will probably end up with better results doing it that way than buying a 2133mhz kit.

Did this thread seriously happen without even one person mentioning Samsung RAM? I must be on the wrong website.

I know, I'm not saying it is. I can't remember the last time I saw a thread where someone asked about memory without at least half the replies recommending it above everything else though. wink.gif

2666 is a bit on the high side, I can see 4 x 3930k that have cracked 2600Mhz, the world record is 2635Mhz.
I would think 2400 is at least a 50-50 shot at a good enough IMC, maybe even better. My 3930k barely manages it but can do it.

Might be availability, used to be easy to add a newegg link & say get this. But I can't even see it at newegg anymore, it's getting harder to find the samsung green.
