Suggest a cheap CPU watercooling kit?

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a cheap and quiet WC kit for my CPU which can combat summer (25c ambient)with an overclock of 4.5Ghz and around 1.4vcore without hitting 80c. I would prefer the cooler to be a good performer without being noisy.

I'm also new to water-cooling. I've only ever used all in ones in the past.
Thank you for the help.

The XSPC kits are often suggested and are a very good place to start. All of their components are of good quality and can be trusted, a part from their GPU blocks which I have heard are not the greatest. This kit comes with everything a part from the fluid but you can just use distilled water and a silver kill coil:

The silver kills any microbial growths that can occur in a stagnant water environment

I must add that I don't know this from first hand experience, but just from what I've read concerning water cooling kits etc, I, much like you are running an all in one system, the antec kuhler 920, which I am very happy with right now.

It is the first I have heard of the silver to help keep the water pure. I've been looking at the XSPC kits but the pumps just seem way too loud.
Any other suggestions?

Im running a XSPC rasa rs360 and have been doing so for a few years. the pump isn't noticeable at all to me and I have never had any reliability issues. I run the RS360 with Corsair SP fans set up to push. A silver coil in the loop and every time I break it down I have nothing to clean. It cools my 965 @ 4Ghz 1.4 vcore and my 5850 @800 core 1150 mem no problem. Cpu never gets above 48c @100% and Gpu never touches 50C @ 100%, they idle at 38C. it is usually in the low 40s gaming. Ambient in my room is usually around 25C summer time.

Also just put a XSPC Rasa RX240 kit in my roommates computer and he has no complaints either. Same CPU as me but a 5870 instead of the 5850

If you want a thick radiator with less FPI (fins per inch) which will allow you to have slower fans so it's less noise i'd suggest a RX240/360 kit from XSPC

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16893/ex-wat-221/XSPC_Raystorm_750_RX240_Extreme_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_New_Rev_4_Pump_Included_w_Free_Dead-Water.html - x20 pump $175

5% coupon code from that site puts them at $166 and $237

The raystorm 750 pumps are not loud at all, they are the x20 750 pumps, you'll hear your radiator fans louder than the pump.
The d5 I can not confirm, at the end of the day, any pump you get is going to make noise, depending where you mount it and how could reduce some of the noise

They might be pricier than a closed loop AIO , but these are fully customizable, you can add, flip, change, switch and do whatever with your parts smile.gif

Best of luck to ya mate thumb.gif

The older pump had that problem but it has been fixed. Even the kit I put into my 2010 build did not had has not had any pump problems. Really the XSPC kits are about the best you can get for a all in one kit and they work together very well.
