[NVIDIA] Geforce 700M Announced - Page 4

I hope the 750m makes it into the next retina MacBook. Going to be grabbing one this summer when the refresh comes out, would be nice if it had the latest and greatest thing.

The same as gaming on a PC, perhaps? Don't be ignorant.

OCN uses the term re-branded so easily when in fact, it was overhauled...Revamped Cuda structure, pipelines, entirely new hardware on the card...

Re-branded is my taking your product and swapping the label...Nvidia in fact, (In every instance thus mentioned) has overhauled the hardware, upgraded the card a bit and then re-launched...That's not re-branding folks, revamping? Maybe but, not re-branding.

It is based on the GF114 Fermi core and is essentially a renamed version of th GeForce GTX 580M but with higher core clock rates. Therefore, it is still manufactured in 40nm at TSMC.

Just a higher clocking GTX580m, or do you have any actual proof otherwise?

Edit: Oh, and you can flash a GTX580M into a GTX675M

Please find me a notebook, other than a mac with:
Backlit keyboard
High quality chassis
long battery, retina MBP is 7 hours
High res screen
GT650m (overclocked in rMBP) or better
Quadcore i5/i7 Ivy

Thanks.

oh so now it's a cherry picking contest ?!

High Quality Chassis? In my years at university I grew to hate the whirling fan of macs. The older the worst it gets. The newer ones are no better, have you touched one that has been running a game for longer than 30 minutes?

You cant just cram hardware and hope somehow it will magically cool itself.

Uhm... since when? You're obviously referring to the 9800M ---> GTX 200 debacle, but since then it's been a steady rise with each new generation.

The GTX 780M is supposedly gonna be a GTX 680 downclocked the same as the 680M, but leaving the memory clock considerably higher. Earlier reviews showed this as the 680MX, which was around 15% faster just at stock settings. biggrin.gif

Hopefully the trend remains the same. thumb.gif
