Nvidia to AMD driver conflict?

Thread Starter
I am currently running a GTX 470, but have ordered an HD 7950. I am planning on using my 470 as a Physx card eventually (probably in a week or two when I have the time to configure everything). My question is, do AMD and Nvidia drivers still conflict with one another? I have switched back and forth before, but always made sure the other drivers were thoroughly uninstalled first. I can uninstall the Nvidia drivers, install the AMD drivers and new card, then re install the Nvidia drivers later but If it isn't necessary I'd like to avoid the hassle.

I've switched between a 7970 and GTX 690 on the same Windows 7 install and there is no issue. I used CCleaner and Driver Sweeper to get the old files off between the driver installs.

Not sure about the PhysX part though with both brands used at the same time.
