Xbit has details from AMD's 2013 investor conference:

This is the AMD CPU section, I'm posting it here. thumb.gif

Odd that there's no mention of Vishera 2.0 for this June coming out of the conference. I now wonder if that rumor is indeed true.

"Vishera 2.0" is what will be going inside Richland APUs. It won't see its way to desktop.

the tech hardware section always turns into a fanboi battle royale. starts out good but within
a page or two it gets painful to read.

Was really hoping to see Vishera 2.0 in AM3+ form guess I have to wait for Steamroller. Not bad
either way. Kinda hard not to picking up a FX-8320 for $140. just whoa in the bang per buck index.

The article compares the improved steamroller architecture to bulldozer in most cases. I wonder if this is because bulldozer has more notoriety as the crippled architecture that needs fixing. Piledriver showed improvements, but did not fix the main problems with the modular core design. Another possible reason for comparing SR to BD would be to "pad" the stats, showing higher performance gains by comparing to an earlier generation. The Xbit article is drawing the comparison here and it is not shown on the AMD slide. I am going to guess that the latter suggestion is not the case.

The timeline slide is horrendous. Im not entirely sure what AMD is trying to say here, it's so vague. It really looks more like public relations spin than anything else.

It would make sense to do a 2.0 version with a better memory controller and the tweaked core, both features of Richmond. Especially considering a Steamroller AM3+ might be still a year away from shipping.

Glad to see AMD talking about Steamroller again. All these rumors of AMD getting out of the desktop market and all that. Wished it was a little sooner though and Im surprised theyre going to ride Piledriver all the way thru 2013 though. Guess there's no point in my waiting to upgrade this 8150. Maybe I should spring for a 8320. Q1 of 2014 is a long time to wait for a CPU upgrade, at least for me. wink.gif

Same thing I was waiting for and finaly made the jump to the 8350 from the 8150.
I completely enjoyed my 8150 with no complaints. New what I was buying and surpassed what most were saying.
But I,m very glad I finaly grabbed a 8350.
Much easyer over clocking with higher results across the board, with comparible lower voltage settings.
got mine off new egg on one of there sales for 174.00.
