Lol hp does not make it easy to find drivers for a windows 8 pc or easy to remove have to jump thru some hoops to just install windows 7.

I detect two problems:

1) I'd bet $100 that even before you used it, you already had some sort of negative preconceived notion

2) You didn't even give it a chance (because of point 1)

Shhh. That's supposed to be a secret.

Window 8 is not the worst thing I have play with, not something I am running out and putting it on my gaming PC but it does touch real well and when I get my next tablet it will most defiantly get a window8 one biggrin.gif

if you were a straight guy and someone told you the same thing about taking it in the rear, does your hypotheses hold true? poke.gif , and believe me, this was only said as an example, i for one believe that everyone is entitled to their own thing, i don't judge, never did, never will., just don't like it when your own choices are made for you, without recourse

anybody going to buy a new computer is FORCED TO HAVE WIN6 INSTALLED, i'm serious.

and if you try to install any other operating system, it's blocked in the bios. doh.gif

they are SHOVING IT DOWN YOUR THROATS, worriedsmiley.gif,

what the hell happened to having a choice,

when i went to the OEM'S website for support drivers, you know , where it either asks you what version of windows you have so you can get the correct driver,

well, it's not there, under compatability it (meaning the physical laptop or desktop) should say : xp,2k,vista,win7, ect. nope, nope, nope!!!!

all is says is win8 under compatability. that's a lode of crap, they are force feeding you, and telling the reviewers that your adopting it, HEY, you have no other choice thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif , never, and i mean NEVER will i ever use win8. i don't like being forced or lead like a dumb-assed sheep, i know better , and i'm not going to let anyone DUMMY-ME-DOWN, which, in my opinion, is exactly what that OS and microsoft are designed to do. SHAME ON THEM sozo.gif

What are you on about? I bought a Win8 preloaded laptop and had no issues reformatting it and loading Win7 on it. There were no bios related issues. As long as the drivers are available for an older OS, there is no problem removing win8 on a system. Obviously on a custom built rig, this will be the case for quite some time as backwards compatible drivers are usually available for an extended period of time.

What is so funny about an OS that's been around for 6 years (Vista) being on more systems than an OS that's been around for 6 months???

aside from some improvement in the driver model design, its not much better in actuality.

If Microsoft keeps going down the road they are going with operating systems, I will most likely just hang on to Windows 7 for years to come and/or migrate to Linux ... both at home and at work.
Bingo.

I handed it in at windows 7, no interest in having a spam based OS

They really shouldn't expect to get some crazy sales when they make a crappy tablet OS.

You got lucky then my clients HP desktop she just bought i had to jump thru hoops to install windows 7 have to get in adv setup then disable secure boot type in a secure code and then when it rebooted asked me again. Then i was able to use legacy boot to install windows 7 and not to mention on hp windows 8 computers they make it a pain to find the drivers also thats more a gripe toward hp then windows 8 tho. My moms dell laptop waset that bad to install windows 7 in its main setup just turn off secure boot and change it to legacy and then was able to get windows 7 installing and they even offer windows 7 drivers for it.
