Well here is a rig that i plan on building in a week or two. Basically the Tower is around a grand. Then Mouse, Keyboard, and Monitor could net you maybe $1300? Anyway here it is.

Performance Computer for under $1000.00 (Case Only)

Motherboard: ASUS AM3+ Motherboard ATX, DDR3 2133Mhz Ram, USB 3.0, CrossFireX Ready

Processor: AMD Athlon II X3, Triple Core 3.30Ghz Processor (Overclock to 4.0Ghz)

Video Card: X2 Asus Radeon HD 7770 2GB Video Card(s), Overclocked

Power Supply: Ultra X4 Modular 850 Watt ATX Power Supply (you might wanna go 1000 to be safe but ur call)

Case: Cooler Master 922M ATX Mid Tower Case

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 2133Mhz

Drives: OCZ Vector 128GB SSD / Toshiba 1TB Hard Drive

DVD Player or Burner: ASUS DRW 24X DVD Burner/Reader

Price for computer:

Motherboard: $100.00

Processor: $92.48

Video Card(s): $324.00

Power Supply: $125.96

Case: $90.00

Ram: $75.00

Drives: $235.00

DVD Player: $20.00

Total Cost of Computer: Just above $1000.00 for Case Only (Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse) not included.

That is if you like Ati/Amd. Personally i love both. So i build AMD/Ati and Intel/Nvidia, etc.

Also i know there isnt a os but i was thinking u would just switch ur ssd/hdd to ur new rig
post #3 of 47

I would avoid that PSU. Besides, all that is really needed for your system with two overclocked 7770s is a 550W PSU - and this is not the minimum either.

It's a computer!

here is what i think.

CPU: i3770k = 320
MB: gigabyte UD3H= 130
Ram: G.skill 1600 CL9 8GB Ram= 50$
SSD: Samsung 840 SSD 128GB = 100
HDD: WD Blue 1TB= 70$
Case: Carbide 500R = 100$
Cooling: Corsair H100i = 100$
PSU: Seasonic M12II 620 = 80$
GPU: Gigabyte 7970 GHZ = 400$

that's 1300$ built. you can do the saving by getting the Reference MSI or Gigabyte 7970 and OC it to the GHZ levels and beyond smile.gif

good luck buddy

I'd seriously suggest against such a build. AMD Athlon X3? Crossfiring two low-mid range cards? A weird PSU?

Ya your right, that will probably be a terrible build lol. I need to rethink the cpu and dual graphics cards. I want something that will match the power supply though.

What if i put two better Gpus and get a quad cpu?

Prices are from new egg and amazon. There might be drops and rises among products but in the end they will sum up to same amount
