If you are sure you are not going Corssfire something along the 500 watts is what you sould look at and even that give you room to add almost anything short of a second video card and still has power left over

Thats what I was thinking. He could always upgrade the psu down the road, for now best bang for the buck. And thoughts on the CPU pick FX-6300?

I like the 6300 for a mid-range processor. It has good OC'ing potential if you want it, but still performs well enough if you don't.

I would go ASUS for either the M5A99X Evo or the M5A99FX Pro 2.0, but you can get the 970 chipset boards for a little cheaper. Like these M5A97 LE 2.0 or M5A97 2.0.

The Gigabyte board is a good one as well. I would hide from AM3+ MSI boards though. Gigabyte or ASUS are the main two I would suggest.
