I def. agree with you. They are the bare minimum that someone should use. I recommend a better psu usually, but depending on budget, I would not go lower that a corsair CX.

On a budget gaming rig myself. I couldn't recommend more for a gpu than the nvidia gtx 460. Although its an old card it still outperforms card higher up the chain. You get huge bang for buck. You can pick one up for under £100. I have the GTX 460 2Gb. I can run Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3 at ultra settings with high Res. textures and dx11 tesselation at 1080p with about 30fps, 720p about 50fps.

Thats fine if your buying used, but you cant find them new anymore.
