Well thank you everyone for the quick replies! I think I will go ahead and be smart and purchase the Asus Xonar DX...but but..now people have me thinking about creative again even though I swore off them because of the driver issues! ><<br />
I'm fairly indecisive mad.gif

I freaking give up. I have googled that crap so many times and NO where does the actuall company step in and say "hey XXX is right and YYY is wrong". It drives me mad.

OP: If you want an amp, buy an amp. A decent entry level solution is the Audio engine D1. It has a dac and amp and it is cheaper than the STX. Simple.... elegant... small....and somewhat pretty too.

7hm you might have SOLD me on that card on amazon for 1 simple reason.

"Use the Sound Blaster Control Panel just toggle between you headphone and speakers system with a flip of a switch"

I switch between my headset and speakers a lot...this might do it for me!

There's this also http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blaster-Gaming-Control-SB1506/dp/B009XDWUCQ/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1364849810&sr=1-7&keywords=soundblaster its pretty much exactly the same as the Z except it brings a physical switch and the capacitors are much better quality, also the amp is very strong.

Ok thats it! No more suggestions!!! I think I am now going to purchase the Creative Z SBX suggested above, only 100$ too. I probably won't use the beamforming Mic, I'll just use the one on my PC360.

Looking at the back panel of the soundcard, are those all inputs? Meaning I could plug in my speakers AND headset in at the same time? (dumb question probably)

They're all outputs except the Mic In and Optical In.
And yes, you can plug in your speakers and headset at the same time. I've written to Creative on placing a quick switch option by right-clicking the panel on the system tray though, hope they'll add it in their update some time in the near future.

So I'm just popping back in to say that I did end up getting my Creative Sound Blaster Z.

And WOW this card is fantastic paired up with my Sennheiser PC360. I'm playing Skyrim and I am hearing sounds that I have never heard before, I almost feel like its extreme sound detail I am getting. Even my sub par logitech speakers sound fantastic. For 100$ I really couldn't ask for a better sound card, I think this blows away my old X-Fi Titanium (80$ version) from what I can remember.

Thank you all for helping me in this thread, very very happy with my purchase! biggrin.gif

STX is an amazing card either way, but some do have their strengths in places vs others. Love my STX and the its clarity either way. Guess it might be another poorly advertised feature too by ASUS but you can easily switch between headphones/speakers via the control panel, or it might just be an addition of the must-have custom drivers I and nearly everyone else use/should use.
