Check the 1600$ build.

Ad you're custom water loop
Switch the i5 with a i7 or maybee switch to the new socket 2011 board with a i7-3930K like you suggest your self, the first reviews indicate the 2nd gen architecture is 7-10% faster then 1st gen. Ivy Brigde

oh then you can easily get away with a quad core. something like a 3770k overclocked would be perfect for your tasks and it would be significantly cheaper as well. you would not see a benefit from going 2011 and a 6 core cpu for the stuff you listed unless you are doing all of those simultaneously tongue.gif

i did a build on newegg

a 3930k , a gigabyte mobo , 16gb RAM , 250 SSD samsung , a 1TB WD HDD , a 750w PSU , Corsair H100i and a Titan : 2,449.93 ( need to put a shipping on that , and a computer case lol )

if you ask me ... save up more money and have a killer PC now , so you dont have to buy "passing by" hardware till you get more money , its better to wait smile.gif

.... or dont get the Titan and get a top of the line ATI or nVidia , Keyshot is not GPU optimized

Look for great mufti tasking u need Ram and cpu power,

ofc Nvidia gpu will be good for rendering etc.. it will help alot depends on some software's use cuda etc.. thats what media ppl prefer nvidia over the AMD for 3d things such as maya 3d max or after effects etc..

as Dizzz said if u will simultaneously do all of these then 3930K is a must and u will overclock it ofc with the water cooling loop wont be an issue

For the water cooling my advice stick with Huge case's Ultra Towers my opinion go with Cooler master Cosmos II
Why dont want SSD? u will need that snapy windows speed copy paste lunching software's editing on files etc.. that will be way faster with ssd and safer hell ye for me i drop my case i went crying on my final project from that Day am on SSD

here is my list

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/P0TG 2077$ without water cooling coz in that website i cant find the custom cooling kits

I'll try later today smile.gif

Like posted right above in #18 i also think a SSD is gonna be a win for you because of the heavy work you do smile.gif

I have read an article reviewing the new Intel SSD catch for large HDD. I believe that'll be just right for this build!! biggrin.gif

Though i kinda need to know if it's extremely heavy work, like if it's large very detailed 3D assembly's maybe having 32GB memory will not be out of the question.

2nd question: How mush does looks count on the case and how mush modding can/will you do in order to fit a WC loop.

3th question: I'll just look at newegg for WC kits, since i know little about performance differences on that type of cooling. Regarding the WC loop do you want the loop to include the GPU, thereby violating the warranty by removing stock?

well , you dont NEED the full custom watercooling solution for this build

since the only heavy program here is Keyshot , that is CPU intensive ( and depending on the rending but asuming you are using sketchup , its pretty much small . not so complicated stuff )

one of those AiO cooler will be more than enough to get the CPU up to 4ghz . Get the Swiftech H220 , and when you decide to cool the GPU , you already have the pump + res and CPU block , just need some tubes , fittings and the GPU waterblock and distiled water

the SSD would be esensial , more than the custom watercooling and OCing the CPU , in my opinion

and the Titan would be a overkill , but if i had that kind of money , ill buy it in a snap lol and work arround that budget to get it biggrin.gif

... btw i use Solidworks , 3dsMax , Sketchup , Keyshot with my sig rig wihout problems ( just small stuff , nothing fancy like engines or cars or anything like that lol ) , and all i need is more memory frown.gif
