Just my 2 cents

Yeah 700W will do nicely, i just said 650 is enough wink.gif

Also for CPU cooling, get h100i with scythe GT-15 fans.
Their factory was hit by a flood so the fans might be out of stock most places. If so i recommend corsair SP120 quiet editions

It is not needed. If you want comfort in mind just base your estimations on FACTS mate. I'll leave this here:

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/his_radeon_hd_7950_review,8.html

It shows here that one 7950 pulls 138W.  138 x 2 is 276.  However, they get 279W here, so I'll go with 279W.  The idle wattage was 165W for the single 7950, and it would be about 175W after adding the 2nd 7950W.  So with two 7950s under full load in their system, that would make their PSU at about 85% efficiency pulling about 450W from the wall outlet.  Your CPU under full load overclocked to 5 GHz is probably pulling about 175W at the most.  So just for a worst case scenario where the 7950s and the 2500K @ 5 GHz are under full load at the same time, that would make their PSU at 85% efficiency pulling about 625W from the wall outlet.

So if it's 85% efficient while pulling 625W from the wall outlet, then that means the system is pulling about 531W from the PSU.  This means that a quality-made continuous-rated 550W power supply would have no problem with this.  After all, how often would you have the 7950s and the 2500K under maximum load at the same time?  smile.gif

Yeah yeah, just admit it. Measurements from the wall plug are trustworthy.

I really cant mainly because I took an electronics class in college and although I failed (mostly due to my professor being a POS and not helping me EVER) I can tell you that although the measurement coming out of the wall are correct, how much power is being used is different by far. Depends on the PSU, we tested a few (very cheap POS PSU's) and they sucked waaay more wattage then it says they should on the site while providing no more power to the system. Its strange, but a 650W PSU may not actually provide that much to a system. I cant really explain further due a lack of me caring.

How come if i suggests a PSU with too little power i get hammered which is fine as i am worng but i get hammered if i suggests something with too much power
So not matter what i say or do i am F´ed anyway

And yes i can be wrong sometimes but that does not mean you have to be rude

Sorry, im at work and Im getting peeved at someone.
I never say anything to anyone ever about too much power unless its an insane amount ie: 1000W+ I always say its better to have lots of breathing room then to have none.
