How to recover Windows XP

Thread Starter
I' am having trouble trying to load the recovery program on my Gateway LT2016U netbook. Basicly I got it used and the owner put Ubuntu instead of Windows XP. I prefer Windows and I wanted to know how I can recover it back to new. I tried pressing F10 or F12 or F2 but it doesn't work. Also I tried to use my external CDROM to install it but after it loads all of the start up files to open setup it doesn't load completely to the set up where I set up the partition or stuff like that. I don't know if there is a raid but it's hard to find one. I prefer if possible that I can recover my notebook like new again though. I tried doing the stuff that was on Gateway website to recover but it's not working I wonder if I did someone wrong or is it possible that the recovery partition is gone?

I actualy found out that the partition for the recovery is gone so I will need to use a CD to install but. But I tried that also but I need a raid driver I think since it won't complete the setup so I can install XP on it. I can't find that raid for the HD so I can install Windows XP.

Try making a bootable USB drive and install Windows XP off of that instead of the USB connected CD drive, you might have more luck doing it that way.
