Advanced rmas are nice, but often pricey, at least from my knowledge of advanced rma with evga
yep, the $150 hold ASUS put on my credit card kinda jammed me up for a week or so.. mad.gif

They just put a holding charge on your credit card for the amount of the item you are advanced RMAing so it would be just the cost of the card.

Then after they receive the card you RMA they refund you the holding charge.
Small wonder.

But a hold in the amount of a high end gpu can really jam you up if you have a run a bad luck like blowing out some tires or needing serious car work. I almost went for an advanced rma with evga today, but I don't think I can afford to have that much money tied up, plus since I have another 670 ftw it is not too big of a deal to be without one for a week.

So for the rest of you guys.. What does it show for your TDP? Is it 100-135%?

Someone on ROG forums brought up a good point.. Maybe it is showing the card is not using 35% TDP, but it is 35% over 100? Because I don't know if it makes sense that the card is at 99% load yet only using 35% of the power..

how comfortable are you with flashing the BIOS to the card.?

Pretty comfortable. I've flashed this thing about three times so far.

BTW.. regarding my post on "coil whine", it was actually not coil whine during idle it was when I exit Heaven and it goes to the credits screen, the FPS is really high and whines but as soon as I exit it goes away.

I will keep the card for now (seeing as I really don't have another choice) and hope either BIOS/drivers fix this. I'll even do a complete format and try.

I do not do coil whine.... that's enough for me to RMA right there..

Check your score on valley against other users with a single 670 and similar hardware setup, if you are within a reasonable range then you're good.

There's nothing wrong with Asus cards, the only problems were with the TOP models which they don't do anymore. You must have just got a faulty one rolleyes.gif
