Indecisive Maniac

Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to the site and I've been poking around for bits and pieces of information and I've come to a conclusion. I can't decide on anything. There always seems to be something keeping me from deciding on a keyboard or a mouse. My biggest problem has been trying to compromise looks/performance. I currently own a Gigabyte Aivia K8100 (somewhat regret it, but it was cheap) and a Mionix Naos 5000. The only problem with the mouse I have had so far is that there is jittering occasionally, which I hear is because of the sensor. It was more apparent when I first got it, now it seems to have almost entirely stopped jittering, but I did lower my dpi preference significantly. I figure I should explain why I picked any of the keyboards/mice.

Keyboards:

Note - I prefer blue and brown switches, blue backlighting is something I've grown fond of, hard to leave. White backlighting is an open suggestion however

Max Nighthawk X8
So I think I would be satisfied with this one, but I have noticed a lot of different distributors with similar keyboards. Which leads me to believe it's basically a cookie cutter keyboard with a different name. Anyone with insight on that would be appreciated.

Ducky Shine II
This issue is interesting, you see I've typed on one and they are available in every lighting and switch configuration I could want, but at the same time they almost look too standard. If that makes any sense. I just like things to look a bit different, that's one of the big reasons I sprung for the K8100.

Qpad Mk-80
Like I said before with the Nighthawk X8, I feel like they are cookie cutter companies. I do like the general look of the keyboard and have heard great reviews of these things. If I had to pick one on visual preference this would probably be it.

Mice:

Note - Ergonomics are not the end of the world for me, but I do like the Naos 5000's ergonomics. I use the fingertip-palm grip so I can pretty much work with anything. Lighting is preferred, I like lights if that one isn't apparent.

SteelSeries Sensei
I hear it is generally a good mouse, but the metallic glossy look doesn't appeal to me. I prefer matte finishing. It grew on me with the Naos 5000.

Razer Deathadder 3G
The 3G seems to have relatively good performance aside from looking nice, but it has bad build quality. At least from what I can tell from people's reviews and some personal experiences with Razer products.

Cyborg M.M.O. 7 Glossy Black
I have quite a large interest in this, however the price tag deters me quite a lot, aside from being glossy that is. I also feel as though the large amount of customization is more gimmicky than actual purposeful.

Final Notes
As far as anything else goes, I just want to point out a few more things. I use the SteelSeries Qck Mass mousepad and I do apologize for making the ten millionth keyboard/mouse recommendation thread. I've been looking for days now on something I can decide on, but I feel like I need more input from people who have had access and more experience with the actual products. I also apologize for posting a mouse/keyboard thread in the keyboard section. If there is a more appropriate section then I apologize. I just didn't want to make the same post in two different parts of the site. Any and all help appreciated, Thank you!

Nice. I did a ton of research recently and ordered a bunch of keyboards to try out.

I ended up going with the Gygabyte Osmium. It has red switches which are not that bad. I do prefer the brown ones. It also has blue back lighting and profiles you cna set up for different games.

I am using the cyborg RAT 7 mouse and love it. It is completely customizable to your grip and seems to work flawlessly.

Here is the MMO version. I am just just using the regular RAT 7 though.

I might wind up having to buy a bunch of keyboards and return whichever ones I don't like. It seems like it's gonna come to that. And the osmium is pretty cool, I tried it out in a store. I wasn't too big a fan of the reds though. They weren't horrible, but if I'm spending a bunch of money on a keyboard it better be tailored to my preferences, lol.

+1 for osmium. There is also a brown variant of that.

Problem with that though being it has white LEDs instead of blue. It's still something to consider though.

What games do you play? I'll go ahead and recommend the CM Storm Quickfire TK Blue once again, it's just a great value keyboard and very nice and compact. I don't use the numpad ever anyways so I love it.

As for mouse I went with a Razer Abyssus, it's blue LED matches the board, the sensor is amazing, and it's nice and small for a fingertip grip for SC2 and Dota 2. Overall I'm very happy with my choices so maybe they could work for you as well. Value was a high priority for both of them though, you seem to have a more flexible budget.

I think I am gonna go with the Osmium and the M8600. I use the numpad quite frequently so that would be a dealbreaker on my end, I had been looking at it though. I just like my keyboards large and in charge, lol. Thanks for reply though!

The Corsair M90 has blue backlit and is one of the most crisp keyboards i've ever typed on. there is also lots of macro buttons.

as for as mice goes I've had 2 Cybrog mice, one RAT 7 and one MMO 7. I had to get rid of both of them because the sensor would randomly stop working and require a full PC restart to start working again. I will however admit that they are the most comfortable mice I've had.

Then I tried a couple Razer mice, namely the 2013 Mamba and the Ouroboros, which are as far as I know the two most expensive mice they make (120 each). I hated the Ouroboros because it was an ambidextrous mouse and I found it uncomfortable since it fitted neither hand all that well. The Mamba I actually liked but I felt it was too light.

I tried a couple other mice, Mionix, Roccat, Thermaltake... always something I didn't like about them.

So long story short, I currently run three mice, a Logitech G9X when I'm doing general Windows stuff; a Corsair M65 for FPS games; and a Corsair M95 for CS6. My recommendation is to go with one of the Corsair ones depending on the type of games you do.

I was thinking about that one a while ago, but I saw it in person and I don't really like the aluminum color. I don't really have much use for that many macro keys either. I used to have the logitech g110 and I never used more then one or two of them. I might have to try out one of the corsair mice when I'm at microcenter again, from all the pictures I've seen they look kinda small.
