Liquid for a water cooling

Hi everybody!!!

I don't know if is a good question, I'm trying to learn graduated.gif about Water Cooling.

If posible use a automotive Coolant, I'm think about this for the anti-corrosive/antibiocide properties of this kind
of Coolant. (example: Prestone, Peak, Valvoline, etc.)

Thanks for any information.

Yes it can work. Especially if you plan of putting a radiator outside your house during winter. With Prestone, your coolant would not freeze under 0'C

I recommend distilled water with silver coil though.

Are you using mixed metals? If not you're fine with distilled water and a silver coil for biocide.

Ah, you beat me to it. FYI in Puerto Rico it will NEVER freeze. If it does, it's time to lock yourself in a bunker.

I prefer distilled water.

I used to use silver kill coils, but since I like colored fluid, I use either Mayhem's biocide drops, if I'm using just Mayhem Dye, or if I am using Mayhem Pastel Coolant, nothing, since the Mayhem Pastel already has a biocide in it.

You could definitely use automotive coolant,.
Should you? I would say not! It might "work" however the long term effects on your components might not be a good one. Cleaning a loop that runs distilled water will be much simpler than cleaning a loop that is running coolant that may cause gunk in the blocks.

There is a few threads about cooling where some users that use coolant discuss it's pros and cons, just try to search them up smile.gif

Best of luck to you mate! thumb.gif My votes on distilled water+ silver kill coil as well
