Yes, your post WAS irrelevant. The guy asked about the game NOW. Not on release.

The game now is fine.

Hiccups happen. I've NEVER had a problem with GFWL in as many years as it's been running. NONE.

Just because YOU didn't have a problem doesn't mean that GFWL isn't a buggy piece of crap that many users do have issues with. In fact, you can easily google Games for windows live and see what the masses think. I'll give you a hint, they hate it. So do I. I've had issues with GFWL not saving to cloud, deleting saves, asking me for game keys when they were already entered. Updating games is a pure pleasure as well. I've had GFWL games just randomly reboot my system without prompting me. Installing a windows update that renders my system unusable. Yes that happened with fallout 3.

On top of this you're forgetting that Batman uses SecuROM as well. Now you tell me a valid reason for a 5 lifetime install limit. You cannot do it. Even EA doesn't use this garbage any more - I used up 3 of my installs when I installed windows 8, installed new GPU drivers, and then went back to 7. If I want to play on my laptop on the same Steam account? IM OUT OF LUCK BECAUSE I CANT. I have to keep my last 2 saves for my home PC, just in case I install a new GPU, which oddly enough, counts as a NEW INSTALL by SecuROM.

Stop defending the indefensible. SecuROM is the biggest POS and most draconian DRM in existence -- there is no justification to Rocksteady using this BS. It's just sad because Batman: AC is a good game, so was AA, but I *REFUSE* to pay for SecuROM and will not get the game unless it comes free with a video card. PERIOD.

Screw Rocksteady. Glad they're gone. Now hopefully their replacement will be sane and NOT use SecuROM 5 lifetime limit with GFWL. Steamworks should be the only DRM anyone uses. At least steam doesn't saddle their steamworks games with a 5 lifetime install limit BULLCRAP. While I hate piracy, this is the EXACT reason why people DO pirate. BECAUSE OF SECUROM AND GFWL.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Just because YOU have a problem with it, doesn't make it a buggy piece of crap. You can Google people having problems with Steam, or Origin.

I think you see where I'm going with this.

For MOST people it's fine. There are millions of users of the software, a few hundred people crying about it. Therefore, the software is FINE.

This goes beyond JUST GFWL. There is no way to defend the 5 lifetime install limit. There is no DEFENSE for SecuROM triple layer DRM. Period.

While I hate piracy, at least with the pirated version you DONT have to deal with the BS. The crap you're defending your honor with is WHY people pirate. So whatever. Let me clear that I don't condone piracy, but when you treat your customers like crap and saddle them with SecuROM on top of GFWL they can and will pirate. When you tell your users you only 5 installs in your lifetime, then you can't play your game, people will pirate it. Period. This is WHY rocksteady sucks.

Understand that this type of behavior for a product that users pay for is not acceptable. It is not acceptable for SecuROM to lock you out from a product that you paid for. It is not acceptable to have a 5 install limit, which you can certainly run into easily with windows 8 and gpu upgrades. Screw that. It's time for rocksteady to go and i'm glad they're gone.

It's just sad because both Batman games were good games. But I would never, ever, ever in a million years give Rocksteady money for it. Their anti consumer behavior is absolutely outrageous - I received both games codes from GPUs, and ended up making money on the codes while playing with another code. I would never PAY for SecuROM, I will only get the game if it comes with a GPU for free.

I didn't say anything about SecuROM. I said for MOST people GFWL is fine. I've never had an issue with it. Not ONCE in the 4- years or so it's been around.

And you can get off my arse. You ahve issues with it. Bad for you. I don't. Good for me. I never have. BEtter for me.

And no offence, but, don't ever accuse me of pirating or I will report you for trolling:

I made some poor wording choices in my prior replies, and should not have made that insinuation - I certainly apologize about that. I didn't mean anything by it. But, this is something that really bothers me and I suppose I just got wound up - I don't think that companies should be allowed to get away with these types of practices. Most other publishers have moved away from SecuROM precisely because it locks users out after hitting their install limits. I'm not cool with that.

This is why i'm glad they're gone. I have both Batman games on Steam as well and they're both good games. I just would not pay rocksteady for them - I received them free with GPUs. Hopefully Rocksteady's replacement will NOT engage in the same anti-consumer practices. Having 5 install lifetime limit is downright absurd - and those installs get used up with GPU and OS upgrades or backup/recoveries. I could live with GFWL even though I hate it. I cannot pay for SecuROM, however. I absolutely do refuse to pay for anything that uses SecuROM.

No, I'm with you on SecuROM 100%. But I don't mind GFWL at all. It's never been a problem for me.

SecuROM needs to die... if I ever have a problem with using any of those Batman Games I know exactly what sort of thing I will be doing - I will not be held back from my legitimate purchases!

So, yeah totally with you on SecuROM. And "TAGES". Hate both those pieces of kit.

My GFWL claims that the games I own are no longer linked to the account.

Thus I can't use the multiplayer functions of GTA IV + EFLC and Flatout: Ultimate Carnage mad.gif
So yea, I'm on a personal boycott for GFWL. Not saying its bad, but my account must be bugged or something.

edit: I tell a lie, just logged on for the first time since my issue (about 1 year), and it's all working again smile.gif
