Is deionized water a must?

So I'm having trouble finding DI water in my area. Would it be sufficient to use distilled water? Or just boil tap water? I'm going to be using it with Mayhems XT-1 concentrate. If not, where do you guys buy your DI water?

Its basically the same. Its just the process that is different. At the end, it's the same thing.

Deionized Water vs Distilled Water: What’s the Difference

Deionized Vs. Distilled Water

Deionized vs. Distilled Water

Quote:
Distilled and deionized water are similar in that both are subjected to a process that strips the water of its minerals. The processes are different yet both yield purified water

For a watercooling loop, both will be good.

I currently use DI water just because I can get as much as I want for free at work, but I have used distilled. there really is no difference as stated above.

Just make sure you don't boil water smile.gif
whichever pan/pot you boil it in might contaminate it to some degree and using tap water is just a no-no
Distilled water is always safe as long as it's bottled and sealed!
