New server ram help

Thread Starter
Ok so I’m building a server and I was wonder what rank of ram should I buy I’ve been looking into it heavily and can’t seem to figure it out I’ve look all over the net and all the stuff I’ve found contradicts its self even in the same post’s and I’ve read the wiki page on it which to me did not help me to understand what its benefits are if there are any.

My proposed specs are specs are an ASUS Z8PE-D18 Server Motherboard, 2x Intel Xeon E5645 Processors LGA 1366, Intel SC5600BASE Server Chassis 5U Rack, a Kingston KINSV300S37A 60GB SSDNOW V300 SATA3 2.5" SSD and Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) PC3-10600 1333MHz Registered ECC DDR3 RAM.

I mean to me there no real price difference between the 8GB sticks I’m looking at so year any help would be appreciated thanks.
Ps this server will be used as a gaming server

If you plan on going budget builds like that you've chosen the wrong motherboard.

Each CPU requires 3 sticks of ram for optimal performance. (triple channel)

First question, what is your intention(s) for the server? That will help us all properly guide you on specing a server.

for a gaming server there is no real benefit to any special ram or ram speed or anything of that sort.
You will not see a performance increase/decrease.

the cheaper the ram the better on your wallet.
