So, what is the big deal, exactly?

Well for starters the new Tomb Raider is a reboot anyway and the character is quite different so its not hard to see/hear a new voice for it. Second and more importantly MetalGear solid games are dialog heavy and most of the plot is unveiled by snake and another party talking. This makes snakes voice a very important part of how the game feels. Bad or mediocre acting can make or break a game like this. David made even the low poly PS1 model look/feel convincing. That's not to say the res of the cast did not do a great job as well at least most of the time.

Yeah...no one really cares who is making the orgasm sounds as Lara is jumping around or getting injured.

Because her voice isn't iconic for the series? Snake isn't snake without that voice.

It would be like if they made a Halflife 3 and changed the voice actor of the Gman

Keeley Hawes was the best Lara we've had thus far, but She's not as iconic to the series as Hayter was to MGS.

This^^^ Like I said, for some, they might not even care, but for a lot of us fans, it's a huge deal.

I will still play the game though. Voice or no voice, if it comes down to it I will just record my voice over... Very much on point there.

I know this may sound silly but I am somewhat less interested. David is such an integral part of MGS more any other voice actor could ever be. I can't imagine Mgs without David Hayter's voice. I have played mgs since 1998, so this pretty terrible news frown.gif

To me this signals the end of the series.
