To me this signals the end of the series.

I agree totally. This series is now dead to me.

I'm actually okay with this. When Snake Eater came out I was a little surprised BIg Boss was voiced by David. Snake should always be voiced by David though.

Pity. I loved the voice work done on the MGS series. Especially on MGS4. thumb.gif

I seen a fan based film made and the actor of snake did an incredible job of voicing as snake. It was not David at all. We have not heard this new actor, but who says that he cannot pull this off for us. I have been playing Metal Gear since the PS1 as I was not competent enough to play the earlier ones at my age. I love David Hayter as the voice actor for snake and can't imagine anyone else doing it either, but Hideo is a very smart man and has yet to disappoint us. I believe that he will make this work, but if he does fail for some reason, you can mark this as the end of the series. I do find it interesting that they did keep the original Japanese voice actor but not David, wonder what the main reasoning behind it is. headscratch.gif

i did like him as snake, but in these last couple games you could really tell he was trying as hard as he could to pull the "batman" gravelly voice and at some points it came out pretty comical...

i dont see anything wrong with a fresh start...

In MGS4 he was supposed to be old. MGS3 came out before the Christopher Nolan Batman films.

then that just makes it worse... old or not, it wasn't a good look for him in those games... i have loved the MGS series and will always be a fan but there were times in those games where i had a hard time not laughing at how ridiculous the voice acting was coming out... it wasn't throughout the entire game but it was frequent enough to where it put me off

Found it! I think everyone should give this a watch. I enjoyed what I seen so far for it being non-profit.
