Intel Burn Tested

So many of us can pass 12hours prime95 with 90% ram custom blend, many of us can pass 24hours

Can you guys pass 100 or even 50 Intel Burn Test standard 1024mb burns?

Seems that my "stable" OC setup will always BSOD somewhere after 30 burns or so..... I've been upping +0.005 to vcore to see if I can actually make it to 100

Some say IBT isn't too reliable, but I know somewhere if the CPU is failing it's because it's obviously being stressed too hard or the OC setup is wrong.

I'm currently watercooling and all my temps are good, nothing going over 65C and VRMS on motherboard maxing at 59C.... I'm even going to jump 0.020 vcore just to see if IBT still blue screens me.

Post your experience with IBT and what you use it for!

I don’t have much use for IBT except for quick tests. I have seen where it will pass IBT and fail Prime95 several times, so I trust Prime95 more for long tests.

My 5.0 rig has done 24 hours of Prime95 and XTU. Just to make sure, per your suggestion, I just did 75 runs of IBT at standard since you said it would fail in the 30 pass range.

It passed 75 no problems no WHEA. I have an Ivy chip though, so I can’t say my experiences directly translate to your chip.

From what I have experienced ocing three 6770k chips, it does not make sense to me that you can pass 24 hours of Prime95 with 90% ram usage and fail in a few minutes of IBT.

It never hurts to use them all. I'm not a fan of extended stress testing so don't do it, but have seen a number of threads where someone has tested 24 hours of prime 95, or 100 runs of IBT & are still getting crashes, bsod & errors.
If absolute stability is a must for someone, run the whole battery of tests like JAOM above.

Yeah, the extensive tests make me wonder...

I was at 1.375 vcore with Turbo LLC and I idled 1.380 and dropped to 1.365 and i had to bump up to 1.385 to get stable in IBT but now I idle 1.380 and rise to 1.392 under heavy load

What I'm worried is I could run prime95 for days with 90% ram usage and my 1.375 setup did not blue screen ever... im curious as to what IBT does that proves my OC isn't "stable" frown.gif

Just a different way of stressing the system. I've had settings that were rock stable in P95 but not ITB and vice versa. At one point I had already done my normal P95/ITB/HCI routine plus a whole lot of gaming and various benchmarks, and when I started a game of Civ5 I immediately noticed my FPS was lower than normal and continued to decline until I was in single digits after just a couple of turns. Turns out Civ5 is the only program on my pc that doesn't work properly when I push my BCLK too high. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, i'm still boggled.. I passed 100/100 tests at 1.385 then i did another 100 and randomly blue screened

i'm more curious as to whether IBT is accurate or it does some weird internal things that causes this to happen.

my ram oc should be %100 but i might have to go back to ddr-1333 and try IBT because for whatever reason, the more i go in vcore, still good old blue screen biggrin.gif
