Just ran 50 offset at 131% power at stock voltage and it passed the benchmark this time

So when people say I got a +130 MHz max overclock over stock is that taking into account the extra 50 to 75 MHz the boost does?

Yes, but that's why you can't just report the offset. Each card boosts differently, so you can only compare the final clock speeds.

Oh cool

So a 100 MHz offset is really 150mhz offset after boost kicks in.

I would really record this as a 150mhz offset if I was posting a max OC on a thread correct?

Now i dont feel as bad with a 100mhz core offset. I thought it was low

For now ill go with the 50 offset at 131% power and stock voltages and play some crysis 3 haha!

Just ignore the offset number - you can't use it for comparison because +100 for you is not the same as +100 for someone else. If you want to compare, use the final clock speed - 1267 (with the +100 offset) for you, which is a good overclock.

Edit: And I read your question wrong in the previous answer - if you are talking offset, you would talk about the offset you personally dialed into Precision/Afteburner - you don't count in the Kepler boost that the card does itself.

I think I had too much juice at first. Backing off the voltage back to stock I can do 131% target power from my understanding now IS like overvolting when needed.

Plus you have to realize you have the ftw model so the stock clock is different then a reference 680. So that's why offset doesn't mean much.

You could be at offset +100 and someone else with a reference card could be at +150 but since your bios has a higher stock speed both cards are really being overclocked the same amount.

Also I had 2 of the same exact cards before I got my titans and in SLI my 680's could only run at max speeds of 1176. So I think your card is ok. it might be a little bit of a low overclocking card but with overclocking it's all a lottery.

With both cards running at 1176 my 680's tore threw any game I tried.

You keep mentioning over-volting, nothing overvolts the card that you're doing. You're only increasing the Power it can pull. That's why your clocks were the same at 100% and 131% (only reason they wouldn't be is if you were being power throttled at 100% in which case 100% would show lower core clock).

Your boost clock is 1176Mhz if I understood right, throw in your offset and that's your clock / whatever you want to record as your OC. Bare in mind the games may need you to lower it to remain stable, I don't know what you're using to test atm.

Just trying to understand this. It's different that cards I've used in the past. I used the term over volt because I watched the voltage go up after increasing target power, sorry is not correct term. I understand what you are saying.

Your stock boost is 1150 I think. so if you get them to run at 1176 you are basically overclocking it by +120 offset. The stock boost speed for a reference 680 is 1058. Does that make sense?

For your cards you are getting an overclock of +26 over the stock boost but it is actually much higher compared to a reference stock boost clock.

I'm not sure if the classified is worth it. I probably would have rather had a classified but they removed the overvoltage feature but I think you can still flash a bios to get them to run faster.

To be honest I wasnt really happy with my ftw 4gb 680's. I think 1176 is on the low end of how fast the 680's run and i paid alot for the ftw's when they first came out and I probably should have gone for a reference card or a classified or some of the other ones that run faster with a bios flash.
