The motherboard is a bad choice the thermal armor thing is a stupid gimmick that does the opposite of what Asus claims

Try and find a Gigabyte FXA 990 UD3 or UD5 motherboard

SSD go for a 840 if you can its faster and cheaper i think?

Would get this RAM kit http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6600649&CatId=4534

Get one monitor spend you money on the hardware you can always buy a second monitor later its much easier to do that then upgrade a motherboard

See how much all that adds up to and see if you have the money for a 7950

Oh thank you I was told the BenQ adds a lot of features most screens do not, again most of my shopping is through tigerdirect so who knows tongue.gif
I like the cheaper one although the review was either a 2/5 or 3/5

The building process seems far more intimidating than it really is. There are video tutorials that are quite good out there. I would just study a few, and get familiar with your hardware. Another tip i was very grateful to receive from someone on this forum so long ago (can't remember who) was this : "If you have worries about the hardware you're picking, just google the issues associated with said component. To be informed on which would be fitting for you, and whether you're willing to deal with them or not"

The SSD you found is fine enough

A 7870 is also fine its just that the 7950 give so much bang for the buck

The Sabertooth morherboard you sould stay away from its a silly gimmick board

Well do you have a board in mind, the only thing I actually understand about computers are most likely the graphics card and cpu and even then it isnt too much. I try to read to learn stuff thats associated with it but it seems like it gets really indepth really fast.
