FX-8350 best waterblock

So I was looking into getting a new CPU waterblock seeing as how I just ordered the FX-8350 Black Edition

I currently have the Apogee Drive II CPU+Pump. (It's basically just an Apogee XT with an integrated pump)
I'm having second thoughts after looking at the design of the processor on the FX-8350 and here's why.

The Apogee XT's waterblock is desigend with pretty universal coverage when it comes to the area of the block it cools

As opposed to the other ones I'm looking at which are the
XSPC Raystorm

And the Koolance CPU-380

The seem to have their cooling focused more towards the center.

Now all the comparisons I've seen of them has them coolingt he i7 3770k, which has it's processor cores physical location in the center of the CPU. Then I saw this

The FX-8350 seems to have it's cores more out towards it's sides.

Will this make a difference in the waterblocks performance?

Nope as the heat is transferred into the IHS that really mitigates where the cores are stored. Unless you have a big processor like the 2011.

You can try to mount it one way and then try to mount it again 90 degrees from that. see if that changes the temps.
Small wonder.

That doesn't work with AMD heatsinks tongue.gif

Their back plate isn't a square so the screw holes wouldn't line up

Apogee HD is what im using on my 8150 and it keeps her about 10°f over ambient idling. Have yet to see her break 35°c during use. My ambient is usually around 26°c. But i have also not done any load testing those are just everyday normal use non overclocked numbers with 480mm of rad and a gtx 570 in the loop.

The Apogee HD and the Apogee XT are extremely different water blocks tongue.gif

I've seen the internals of the Apogee HD, it looks poorly designed.
