It seems to only add to my worries that the area it would cool would be further away from the actual cores of my CPU

Sorry for the bump, but what block did you end up using?
I'm planning to watercool my rig and was wondering what you've used... smile.gif

Same CPU +HD 7950, on what will probably be a 540mm radiator (3x180mm in a Silverstone FT02. wink.gif
